3 out of 5 stars Experimental MP3 Player - Kindle 2   March 17, 2010
Johnny (Seattle, WA)
After dreaming about owning a Kindle 2, I stepped up and bought one. Man, I love it! I was excited to hear that I could also play music while I read. So, I bought an ablumn from Amazon, downloaded it, and pressed "Play." Not bad though I can't manage my music on the Kindle 2. In addition, the tracks seemed to literaly skip like a CD every 30 seconds. I know I bought a Kindle 2 to read and not play music.

I this feature sticks, and I hope it does, I'd like to see the glitches fixed and allow the user to have more freedom to manage music on the Kindle 2. Thanks!

5 out of 5 stars The only way to read a book   March 17, 2010
Douglas Sherwood
This is a great product. At first I thought I would miss reading from an actual book but after using it for a couple weeks I find that it is a great alternative to paper books. The screen has a paper like quality and is easy on the eyes. Even with the wireless turned on the battery lasts for a long time with moderate use (including some use of the web browser). I would definetly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading books.

4 out of 5 stars Medical purpose   March 17, 2010

The Kindle should also be marketed for its benefits for people with disabilities. I'm an avid reader who has MS. I have purchased ebooks from the gemstar to the first sony , the kindle is by far superior. My disability has increased since the my first gemstar purchase. Nobody thinks about how difficult it is to hold a hardcover book or to read a paperback and turn the pages when you can't crack the sine of a book because your fingers don't have the strength. Not to mention failing vision and being able to enlarge the print. That's one reason it doesn't get 5 stars the type should be able to go a little larger. I think the publisher's arguing with you over the 9.99 price should know they are also hindering people with disabilities many of whom are on fixed incomes and cannot afford to pay the increased prices. I for one will wait until prices come down on new releases priced above 9.99.

I love my new kindle and would be truly miserable if i wasn't able to read.

The screen is one of the best things of this device its nice and sharp. Easy to get the books in and the best of all its plug and play. Just connect the USB cable and its ready to load books or PDF files. I recomed getting the leather cover to protect this great device.

BOUGHT KINDLE 2 ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, AFTER A COMPLETE STUDY OF EBOOK READERS AVAILABLE. ONE WORD REVIEW: GREAT!
TOOK ME ABOUT TWO DAYS GETTING USED TO THIS TYPE OF BOOK AND NOW I ONLY WANT TO READ FROM THIS NEW ELECTRONIC BOOK. HAVE READ ABOUT FOUR BOOKS ALREADY. MANY FEATURES EXIST THAT I HAVE NOT TRIED YET, BUT SO FAR, EVERYTHING I TRIED IS VERY GOOD. BOUGHT A COLE BOOK COVER AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE AMAZON COVER IS ALSO GOOD.
