Product Description The Z20fd Finepix digital still camera features face detection to significantly improve your picture taking by identifying human subjects' faces in the frame (up to 10 faces) and in real time, determining the optimal focus and exposure settings for the absolute best results possible in any shooting conditions. Behind Fujifilm's face detection technology is a newly developed LSI chip combined with patented software that allows the FinePix Z20fd digital still camera to reach a level of performance in digital photography never before possible. And the sophisticated, intelligent software algorithms detect red-eye and correct it in-camera. More than just red-eye reduction, this is red-eye elimination, after the image has been captured, to assure every picture looks its best. The FinePix Z20fd with picture stabilization will automate professional photographic techniques to help reduce camera shake, freeze subject movement and improve low light background detail. Picture stabilization utilizes higher sensitivities, up to ISO 1600 in the Z20fd, an incredibly high signal to noise ratio, and faster shutter and operational speeds to deliver virtually blur free images where conventional digital cameras cannot. The Finepix Z20fd features high sensitivity of up to 1600 ISO at full resolution. It is combined with Fujfilm's advanced processor capabilities, shooting in low light environments with the Z20fd yields exceptional performance with less noise. The FinePix Z20fd is designed with style and fashion in mind for the youthful photographer that's on the move. The Finepix Z20fd features an xD / SD / SD-HC compatible slot, allowing the use of either xD picture card or SD media to store and transfer your photos. This convenient and flexible capability assures compatibility with a wider variety of applications than ever before, and allows users to choose the media technology that is right for them.

Impressive, but a bit less than perfect.. January 7, 2009 J. Kais (Green Bay Packer Country) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
10 megapixels, movie mode, simple operation, good battery life. All in all a great value for the buck. Just don't expect great pictures every time! You and the subject WILL be blurry if there is motion. Needs some practice with shooting as the auto-framing is a little slow and it's easy to jump the gun on taking the shot. A great backup camera and a great scenery/portrait camera for the money. Keep an eye out for accesory packages on Amazon as I found a spare NiCad battery/screen protector/mini-tripod package for under eight bucks!
Poor image quality, good MPEG4 movie camera January 6, 2009 D. Zhang We bought this camera before Xmas and used it to take many pictures during the holidays. The picture quality is clearly a huge disappointment! All indoor pictures are grainy unless you use the flash light. I know it's unfair to compare it to our DSLR but our 5 year old rebel 300D outperform this little thing by a huge margin! Once you look at the pictures taken by 300D you don't wish to use this camera ever again! The MPEG4 video feature is pretty cool though. With a 8GB SDHC card(very cheap nowadays), you can take more than 3 hours of near VHS quality video. Specs says it's 640x480x30fps but the actual video quality is worse than the specs. With the video clips so compact, it's easy to upload them to youtube. Now we use this camera primarily for lower quality video shooting(we do have a HD video camcorder for more formal occasions but it's quite bulky).
My daughter loves this camera January 6, 2009 S. Prehoda (Heyworth, Illinois) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was just a perfect choice for my 17 year old daughter. She popped in her memory card and is off and running!
