A Nice, Basic Box December 23, 2008 Melissa (Vermont) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this computer in a hurry after the hard drive crashed on our Dell. For slightly more money than it would cost to fix and upgrade the Dell, we were able to get a whole new system (minus the monitor). So far we have not been disappointed. It works fine for a home computer, lots of internet and some games. It was simple to set up and has plenty of USB ports for external devices. It took a little longer to get through the mail but that's the exchange for low price.
Good PC for the money December 14, 2008 John L. Liccardi (OH United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had no problems setting up this PC. It works fine with my Samsung LCD monitor. Pros Not bad for the money Dual-Core processor 3 GB ram DVD drive with LightScribe Vista Premium Cons Mine was shipped with an the old "ball" type mouse - would have preferred at least an optical if not a laser mouse. Comes with Norton Internet Security but only for 60 days. None of the software was included on CD (Is this typical these days?) Note: You'll want to create recovery discs of your software. The PC will prompt you to do this but it will require DVD's (about 3) since the recovery won't work with CD's.
My last HP purchase November 24, 2008 Jeff Chandler (Grand Junction, CO) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
The hard drive was not imaged, and you have to wait 20 minutes to figure out if the thing actually works. The video card would not sync with my LCD monitor at higher resolution, only safe mode. Called tech support. After 20 minutes of talking with two people from India, I packed up the computer and took it back to WalMart.
Disk Boot Failure November 7, 2008 B. Faktorovich 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
That what I saw when I turned it on. Definitely bad experience when first thing you see is hard drive failure.
