5 out of 5 stars HP has missed the boat on this one   April 5, 2010
HPUX fan (Roseville Ca.)
When I first saw this unit at Fry's, the salesmen talked it down so bad I didn't buy one. I looked at the comments on line and then since it was only $288 and had XP home on it, and Fry's had a good return policy I thought I'd get one anyway and try it out for myself. I have built many computer from the ground up for many years so I pretty much know what I'm doing. DVD ripping and re-coding is a fairly demanding task and the Atom processor in this machine did it just fine. This machine is fine for 95% of people who use computers for regular things. I loaded Visual Studio 2008 and ran through large compilation jobs and it performed very well. Linux runs well on it too as you can recompile an entire Linux kernel and install it with ease. The small case and lower power requirements is such a nice plus these days. HP missed the boad in my very humble opinion in not offering this little machine to a wider audience and taking it off the market after just 6 months. They probably didn't make much per unit. Shame on Fry's for dissing it undeservedly. Before it was too late I set up 10 people with one and each owner loves it and it's quietness. My own personal machine is setup now with 2GB ram and a 1TB green hard disk. I use it as my low power, always online, internet scanner through a kvm switch when I'm working on a 2nd machine, to download drivers, search for answers to problems, etc. So there you have it. Long live XP.

For the price I guess this computer is alright..I bought it for my 2 kids to use..it runs kinda slow...and now we are having issues with it turning off on its on??? don't know what that means...

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful computer!   January 29, 2010

Have had over 6 months and love it- no problems! It is quite, fast, small, and plenty powerful enough for my computing needs. The cooling fan rarely comes on (a little loud when it does). Oh, and VERY energy efficient!

5 out of 5 stars can't beat the price for great quality   September 23, 2009

Preforms great, quiet, takes up a small amount of space...such great quality at a cheap price.
One of the best I have ever owned.

4 out of 5 stars Very reasonable computer   September 20, 2009
Albert Schaedler (Santa Monica, CA United States)
I have had the computer since about three weeks now and it seems to work great thus far.
For the price I think it is a great little machine, just a bit larger than a bread toaster, however it can handle every task.
With flash programs it seem may be a little bit overwhelmed, other than that it is a great buy.
